Empires Fall

This is a new favorite of mine titled “Empires Fall”.  30”x30” stretched canvas. This is a mixed medium painting with loads of texture and depth. The base of the painting is done using drywall joint compound mix; using a taping knife. Giving a realistic feel of an aged wall with layers of stories to tell; scrawled across the wall are words of rebellion, washed out by a crumbling statue that once represented a powerful empire. The bouquet of flowers sprouting from the statue was done using a pallet knife and heavy body acrylic. They represent change, growth, and the beauty to be found flourishing in the new dawn of change.
